German Blue Rams stocking

Just curious. How many german blue rams can I fit in a 38g. A local breeder by me has fry for sale and I am thinking about buying 6-8. To many?

I raise my sword in the air in the battle against clado. I have been beaten in this battle but the war is not over. As my wounds heal I amass another army, an army with many legs, an army of Amano's......

I thrust my tridant into the mass of medusa like staghorn. I am wounded but I refuse to take a knee.

From experience, yes.

You may do OK with a male/female/female combo, but to be on the safe side I'd go with just a pair.

Rams can get extremely aggressive during spawning, and a 38 gal doesn't have much space to get away from each other.

This is just my experience so do take it with a grain of salt. I have a 39g so we pretty much have the same space available. I've kept 2 males with 4 females in the past but within 2 weeks, the less dominant male was pushed to the brink of loosing it and died shortly after. This may have been due to added shock from acclimation to a new tank but never the less the dominant male was always after the less dominant one. The females, however did fine.

I'd say depending on how much plant foliage you have 2 males would be the max you should have. Since they are still juvies, they will not start harassing each other until they sexually mature. It's always hard to replace a nice looking mature male so get 2. Just have enough plants in there so the weak one can hide. That way if one dies you still got a backup. :P
