The only concern I have about that meathod is that the older developing fry may predate on the newly hatched fry.
That is a very succesful way of breeding though. I may try it.

Good to hear fishscale!

Mine are just all about breeding age but are in my 55g. I'm hoping they don't have to be pulled to get some results...

Have you tried feeding live foods yet?

Some them in my tank have really colored up over time and I still haven't tried live foods yet.

A good way to breed egg scatters is to keep them in a separate tank - 10G would do.
Fill up the bottom layer with marbles or some other kind of seperator where the parents wouldn't be able to get to the bottom. Keep the water level above this layer fairly shallow - 2-3 inches only. That way once the eggs are dropped, they're quickly beyond reach. Fairly standard danio breeding setup....
