Ick outbreak... need help
A little background.
So of my fish, a bala and a tiger barb, came down with fin rot. I moved them in to my 10 gallon for treatment.
I got a new fish, a black ghost knife. I always quarantine new fish for exactly this reason. I did my normal thing with the new fish and finally got it into the ten with my other two fish.
Yesterday I went out and bought two plants for the tank.
Well, today I noticed my bala and barb acting weird. So, I steoped up to the tank to look. Sure enough, there where little spotted on the fish.
I decided to bump the temperature up to 85+ and add some salt. I had just put the heater in the tank ( I don't use it because the water stays at 75 by itself. ) when I realized that salt and scale less fish do not get along...
So, I did what I should have done to start with and moves the shark and barb into a seperate tank and put the heater in with them. I got my salt measured out (4 tbs for 10 gallons, added over the course of 48 hours ssound good?) I put my powerhead and air stone in the tank and put the lid on it.
I am hoping that the knife will be the same as my rainbow shark who was immune to the Hickman (edit: really? Ick... ) for now, it is okay. I hope it stays that way.
Anyways, any questions? Concerns? Suggestions?
