The plakat is an import from Thailand. Pure white bodied with red finnage. The male is a black headed blue bodied viel with one dumbo ear and red splash on his fins, got him at a Lfs that gets there betas from a private breeder. Knowing the characteristics of these fish alone, this is for a beta breeder and geneticist to answer. What could I expect from the first spawn. I understand knowing the background genetics on these fish play a big role. But I don't have that. I may be able to find out the females background though.

Like previously stated, since the male's genetics are unknown it's anyones guess as to what offspring will be produced. The only way to know how the fry will turn out, is to actually breed the fish and raise the fry.

So even having one genetic background there can't be any resolution as to what percent the fry will turn out to be like

You'll never know what you'll get. If you don't know the genetic lines, the babies will be very diverse.

Look into which of the traits are dominate and that will be your majority.

Ok then I'm going to order another red dragon this one male with red dragon parents. Knowing the genetics and forefather parents should come out with a majority of the fry being half moon plakat red dragons right
