They are cute the way they find a leaf and sleep on it like it's a pillow at night.

Probably one of the most entertaining fish out there.

I have ONE in a 29G with 30 tetras and 1 angel fish. She is a relentless killing machine. I don't see live snails in the tank, but the substrate is littered with empty shells. She has only hunted one fish, that was sick.

She only eats live food. There seems to be enough snails in my 29G to keep her happy, but I still throw in brine shrimp on the weekends.

I've lent my male (from my office tank) to a friend to control his snail problem. Giving the snails in my office tank a chance to recover. I bring some of those snails home - they don't stand a chance.

Perhaps this link will be of use-http://aqualandpetsplus.com/Oddballs...%20Puffers.htm
Anyhow, from what I know, they are biters and have strong beaks for cracking shells. If you don't feed them enough crustaceans their beaks will continue to grow until they are unable to eat anymore (like hamsters and rodents).
What you can do is get one of those hanging breeding containers, fill it up with some cheap plants (like anacharis) and then put a couple of grown snails in there. The adult snails will be protected from the puffer and be able to breed constantly.

Will they eat nirites? Or do they only eat small snails? Also do they eat shrimp?
