L-52 pleco Dekeyseria (butterfly pleco, flounder pleco)

Does anyone keep this pleco? If you have give me some of your experiences with them. They look really nice and I have been watching some on an auction site but would like to hear from someone with first hand experience before I make a move.

Maybe 15 years worth of keeping.
Awesome fish for the planted tank.

Did their colors wash out after they matured Tom? From what I have read they can darken up under conditions where a dark substrate is used and almost go completely black. Their coloration is nice with the black and white and would hate to see them go all black.

Just got mine about a month ago (L52). Color seems to be fine. Very nocturnal fish, hides in particular spot in tank set up where I can only view underside during daytime. Is growing pretty fast too. I also have a L66 king tiger pleco which by your description of pleco wanted may be more up your ally as far as coloring. I use dark substrate with L66 and dark substrate and light sand with L52. Also be sure to have a piece of driftwood in tank with pleco (chola being the best option).

I have had L-66 before and they changed from a nice black and white coloring to a tan and black when mature. Still a nice looking pleco. I'm sure most will change colors when mature but didn't know if the L-52 went completely black or dark as others have said. Where did you get your L-52 if you don't mind me asking?
