angelfish

hey guys i need some help on this thing.
i have an angelfish thats about a good 3 1/2 inches wide and tall
with its fins its about 6" wide and 10-11" tall.
what i need help with is adding 5 more angels my lfs doesnt sell
large angels so im going to have to buy the small ones.

is there any way to add the baby angels without the larger one beating them up?

forgot to add the tanks going to be upgraded to a 75 gallon.

If the tank is coming soon then add them all to the new tank at the same time but if you have to add the smaller ones with the larger one for the time being I would move any decorations around, do a water change, and possibly remove the big guy for 30mins-1hr while the nebies settle in.

FUNction over form

In that case, maybe you could add the babies to the new tank and add the big guy a little later. He won't be as territorial because, well, it won't be his territory. Yet. Also be sure there are hiding places just in case big guy gets the munchies.

Or, what others do is put in a divider and put the new ones in and let them get use to each other for about a month or so and then take the divider out.

I had 10 Angels in a 120g, I got them in two shifts. 4 or 5 were full grown and the rest were added later. I had plenty of room to hide and enough distractions that they stayed pretty calm. 2 minor turf wars.

Eventually I split them up, and sold a few.
JOhn .,.

Can't keep air plants alive so let's try planted aquariums. I probably won't over water these.

55g Hospital Tank
75g temp Amazon River Basin
120g New Planted Tank 1/30/07

Hope to raise Angels & Discus
120g Ciclid Tank
955g Freshwater Game Fish (yes 955 US gallons)

When I added the second batch, the angels were dime to nickel sized.
