Another urgent fish question!!

Hello everybody. Once again I have an impending fish question. A couple of days a go my baby pleco died, and just today I got a new one. Its a rubber pleco. Anyways, I don't want this one to die, so I was thinking that maybe I should drop a CO2 pellet in my aqurium to produce some algae for my pleco to eat. Is this a good idea? I have a community tank, filled with clown loachs, a catfish, tetras, angelfish. My tank is 75 gallons.

P.S. I always drop it an algae wafer in the night. I don't know if it is eating that, but it is gone in the morning.

The algae wafers are probably being eaten by the clown loaches or the catfish. A better way to feed would be to offer some veggies - cucumber, zucchini, or spinach. Most likely the loaches and other catfish won't touch it much and the plec will have something to graze. You have to weight it down with something, offer it at night, and remove within 24 hours.

I'm not quite sure I follow your logic - dropping in a CO2 pellet will not produce algae.

As already mentioned, you could just blanch some vegetables instead, and let your Pleco munch on that.

Also if you don't have any already you should get some driftwood for the tank as the pleco will munch on that as well.
