I can't say they are, mine just swim all day until it's their feeding time.

When I had them they were pigs. They eat until the look like balloons and can hardly swim. Feed sparingly. They are also very curious, they will peck at and taste everything MTS, plants , rocks, your hand if you stick it in the tank.

I have rosy barbs and they eat like crazy. When I put my arm in the tank for any reason they attack the freckles.

If they could they would peck on you. All barbs are quite "piggy", but the tiger barbs are especially good at this.

Rosy barbs, gold barbs, are good at this also. They make life in a tank.

My Emperor Tetra are like that - they slam the surface like carp when it's feeding time, and will eat algae wafers until they balloon up - meaning I should cut down on the algae feedings!

Very true. Mine are the biggest slobs. Between them and the silver dollars food is gone in my tank in seconds

Yeah I got a barb species tank and I have 75 tiger barbs in my 180 gallon tank. And they devour 6 blocks of bloodworms in a few seconds and then 10 minutes later when I am in front of my tank they are begging again. Most of the time I only feed them once at night. They are awesome fish. I am getting 10 x Odessa barbs on Saturday the are stunning fish.
