I am considering a small school (~6?) of corydora for my big tank. The smallest species might become angel food, so tell me what species you like that are bigger than large angel's mouths. And why.
I'm a big fan of sterbai cories. Not the biggest species but big enough to not be food. They just look cool in my opinion. And they breed real easy for me. As a matter of fact they are laying eggs right now.
any species of corys besides the dwarf ones like pygme or hasborus wont be small enough to be eaten by angels. corydoras sterbai's are common ones and does well in warmer temps. but i dont think they look to good with darker susbtrates. for darker substrates i go for corydoras duplicareus or adolfoi's. but harder to find and pricier.
Yeah that was my thought - never had a concern for one minute with any cory getting eaten (save for dwarfs) by something with the modest swallowing capacity that angelfish possess.
I like my False Julii Corys. Very active and none of my other fish seem to care about them. My Rainbow Shark chases my blue rams and neon tetra all over but has never given my corys any problems. But I dont know much about angel fish.
Pandas are by far my favorite, I am liking Davidsandsi Cory's as well,, just recently stumbled upon the and must say I like them
