Last night I noticed that there was a swarm of fry swimming around my 2 blue rams (I didn't even know that they were breeding). I've had the tank up since Feb and the Rams since March.
This morning I don't see the fry so I'm guessing they have been eaten during the night. The other tank inhabitants are Runny Nose tetras and Discus.
Any hints on how to grow the fry to maturity in case this happens again? I guess I'd siphon them out and try to grow them out in another tank. Not why I got the Ram's but it seems like it may be a fun thing to do
I've included a crappy pic below - you can barely make out the fry:
Discus will eat those babies like hot cakes. Rams are easy to raise on your own. Just need a lot of baby brine shrimp at least 3-5 times a day, clean warm water daily and a little 10-20g tank and in no time you'll have sellable/tradable fish.
A couple weeks later and another back of Fry. This one is about 3-4 times larger than the last and survived the night. I spot feed the swarm powdered flake food. I have no idea if they ate it but it sure made the parents go crazy.
