Yep, that's the pic of the fire barbs. they did tend to school near the middle to lower portion of the tank.

not everyone shares the same opinion. I don't see anything wrong with them, they're just not for me. I guess I prefer more subdued or subtle colorations instead of the striking-in-your-face ones

i'll have to look into them then. I was pondering over a smaller school of something for the lower regions instead of corys

Gold white cloud mountain minnows!

I am simple. They seem striking to me.

oh ya, one of my all time favorite schools. i prefer the regular white clouds. i LOVE to watch that DANCE the boys do for each other! it's fascinating! it cracks me up! they shimmer and they are beautiful.
I used to have a boat load, but over the last several years i have only have four of them, and they actually get kind of big if they manage to get old and my four are nice big grown ups. Now I want to get more. actually I have been wanting many more for quite some time, just waiting for healthy ones.

I think a big tank with a few schools of the smaller fish, like the white clouds, are great to sit and watch.

100+ CPD would look amazing but with predators in the tank you'd either never see em or they'd be eaten.

I don't have a real good suggestion as most anything I'd mention already has been.

CPDs are an option. I have 7 leopard danio in the 20g and i love watching them. they'll be transferred over to the big tank, so perhaps i'll pick up more.

Currently in my 100g I'm building up a school of pristella maxillaris. They come in many different color mutations which makes it interesting. The gold pristellas swimming with the red bellies makes it look like a play on light and shadow. There's also the wild type, or green pristella which I am going to add soon, as well.
