Floating Neons

For some reason my neon tetras float after eating. Anyone know anything about this?

Perhaps they are swallowing too much air?

I mix flake food with a bit of water so it doesn't stay on the surface. Floating food doesn't work with a surface skimmer. I wondered if the skimmer was skimming and found out it works just fine! Might want to try that. Even easier is to take the pinch of food, hold it under the surface and release it.

Could be bloated. A lot of pellets, and some flake can expand a lot once in the stomach do to water absorbing. Do they look like they are gasping for air or anything? Have you dosed or anything else int he same time range?

Weird.
Feed them different food and see what happens.
Could be something odd in that batch of food?

Yeah try feeding them something that sinks. Just curious if eating surface good their taking in air with the gulps, and screwing up their bouyance chambers. You never know lol

Unhappy glowlite tetra swimming face down

I have a 20 gallon tank with 1 orange gourami,5 neon tetras, and 4 glowlite tetras.Over the last 2weeks I have lost a blue gourami,a gold ram,and another orange gourami.I have had the water! tested, and they said it was slightly high ph ,but was ok.all fish ended their lives floating sideways.what has caused this.I change the water 20% every 2 weeks'and feed them with fish flakes only.I also no longer have any live plants at the moment.my glowlite is swimmimg sideways and swims face down:.it has not changed colour to white either.can anyone help, before I buy anymore fish.
