At a loss for more fish, ideas?

Nice choice! I like GBR's. For five years I worked off Yamato Rd, so just around the corner from FAU. Took a GMAT prep class there, too. Good luck with the new fish!

Small world indeed! I went to FAU for some time in Boca and lived in Lauderdale for a few months at one point. I'm loving Colorado although I do miss the beach on occasion :P

Re: At a loss for more fish, ideas?

You could do 2 angels in a 40 breeder if you want. Might be best to stick to one though.

I have had rams bully corys in one tank but not another... Overall there pretty peaceful but the fact is you never know for sure.

You can't keep most gouramis together as they are related to Bettas and most will kill each other. I did have 3 honey gouramis in my old 40 that got along OK.

8g Fluval 1M CT Betta

75g Angelfish, 3 EBGR, 4 Siames Alage Eaters, 12 Harlequin Rasboars, 1 BN Pleco, 1 Swordtail
33g long cherry shrimp, 8 pygmy corys, 5 ottos
15g 2 GBR

I was considering Bolivians as well as they're a bit more forgiving with conditions but their color didnt seem as striking. Is that the case or do they color up nicely once adjusted?

I'm not sure if I want to risk the size of Angels in the tank at this point as I have quite a few smaller fish that may make it feel cramped.

That tank looks like ram heaven, anyway. Excellent choice. Will you just be getting two, or do you plan to get 4-6 and let them choose each other for mates?

Funny you should say that, I'm standing in my LFS right now and as I'm scoping out the GBR's to decide, I spot a female acting funny and look closer to find a leaf covered in eggs being fertilized by the male. So I'm getting that already mated pair for now which I'm SO excited about! If they're spawning in a fish store tank then dang...

very nice i just got 2 new GBR's myself.

you can prob still fit a small gourami in there if you really wanted. i had honeys and GBR's in a 40 breeder. they stayed away form each other.

Good to know, I'll see how the GBR's adjust then look into the gouramis. Thanks for the suggestion!
