Any suggestions - my' first planted tank.
Hello everyone, I'm trying to decide what kind of fish to populate my' eheim aquastyle 9 with and figured I'd post a thread with some of my' ideas. Below are some characteristics I'd like that describe what I'm looking for.
small (the smaller the better, ideally an inch or less in length)
Perky and cute behavior
fun to watch and visually appealing
does well in medium to low light
Not too rare that they're hard to obtain/find, feed or care for etc.
I'm trying to decide what direction to take my' tank and it makes sense to select the fish ahead of time before the plants so that they can be matched together. At first I was thinking of just getting a male and female better and keeping the tank heavily planted. This would be nearly perfect as the fish meet most of my' requirements except that I'd like fish even smaller and something a bit less typical. I love bettas but this is my' first planted tank and I seem most impressed with setups that showcase smaller fish in groups.. . I want to try and keep the plantlife and fish so that their' water requirements are similar enough.. lol any suggestions?
