Anybody's fish ever try to swim into their powerhead?

I've got like 5 Harlequins right now trying their best to swim head first into my Koralia Nano 240's output jet. If they succeed they will be chopped into bits. I wasn't really worried at first, but they are a lot stronger swimmers than I thought and are dabbling at touching the plastic on their bursts.

I blended a zebra loach one time . . .

I turned the power off while I was doing a water change and the zebra swam into the fan enclosure. It was a open type circulation pump. Basically a fan with a shroud. The shroud has much bigger gaps on the section where the flow comes out, which is no problem when its on . . . but when turned it on I saw him getting bashed around in circles . . . I turned it off expecting the worst. He floated to the bottom like a dead fish would, but then miraculously made a full recovery! I guess it just knocked him silly. He had some damaged fins, but they grew back and now I can't even tell him apart from the other fish.

I no longer use that type of circulation pump.

I lost a couple of Parotocinclus' in a powerhead that was turned off. Determined that (2) powerheads were two much so I turned one off and left in there. Never woulda thought that they would have went in there. Only one PH in the tank now.

Re: Anybody's fish ever try to swim into their powerhead?

I found a dead pygmy cory on the intake once. He could have died elsewhere and floated up but I think he went too close and couldn't escape the suction. I found a live shrimp in similar circumstances later. I don't think he survived long after I released him though.
