what kind of fish is this??

I can home from work today and my daughter and girlfriend decided to add to our community tank, she got one more weather loach as I had instructed and then strayed and got this.fish that I don't know what it is.
They are impulse buyers and not as obsessive as I am so they just wanna get this one and that one and blah Blah.

They're the only fish we ever receive with a Patent Pending label on the bags. Genetically altered though, not tattooed.

Looks like a Gymnocorymbus ternetzi, Glofish variety. There are the black skirts, white skirts, longfin blacks and now Glofish.
I have all three colors, acts just like any other Skirt tetra and needs the same things. Also, needs to be in a school and very overpriced...

Thanks, are they friendly fish? I have neon tetras, giant danios, Cory cats, weather loaches, rummy nose tetras and a couple of pelcos. And around 16 shrimp, amano

yep they're basically an altered black widow tetra. I can't say for sure because it is a big secret to Glofish.

They add jellyfish or coral DNA. Not a huge secret.

Does it glow? Could also just be a painted tetra.

there is a difference in the painted (will never buy and can not stand them its cruel) and glowfish. the one pictured is a glow fish. glowfish like said are altered with jellyfish or coral dna they dont "glow" like a night light but rather are neon in color. under black or blue light they do look as if they glow.

Its ugly it looks as if itseyes were filled halfway with liquid from a highlighter. Its kind of aggressive it keeps going after my giant danio. They seem towant the same section of tank. As far as price I don't know my girl bought it. The weather loach isn't cheap either. But its a lfs and saves $30-$50 for shipping. So seems to work itself out
