Next eye candy for community tank

Hi all,

Recently I had my main fish in my community tank pass away, he was a male dragonscale betta, I believe he died due to velvet. I am trying to figure out what could be the next main fish in my tank.

My tank is currently stocked with:

8 neon tetra
5 black neon tetra
2 Otos
2 ghost shrimp

Could I get another main fish, if so what would it be I'm open to all suggestions

Or

Could I up my school of black neon tetra?

All input and suggestions are welcome

Thanks,

Teckspeed

Hmm. German rams, apisto, or honey, chocolate, croaking gourami. My choices.

Could you be more specific?

Also would you wait to add any other fish due to my betta having velvet?

How about a Trio of Sparkling gourami's? (They need to be in trios)

German blue rams, apistogramma, chocolate gourami, honey gourami, sparkling gourami. All neat peaceful fish with personality. And I would probably wait but I have no experience with velvet. You also could try dario dario if you want a challenge. They need live food but I love mine.

Apisto or dwarf gourami. Both can be easily acquired.

is there something I don't understand? The OP asked for suggestions and you decided to comment saying you don't have any suggestions. So why bother to comment?
