Bolivian rams and hard water?

I am thinking about getting a pair of Bolivian rams. Will they do well in a tank with a neutral PH and hard water (10 dKH and 6.7dGH???) If anyone is keeping rams in similar water please let me know. I dont want to buy them only to have them die.

Thanks

I'm keeping four in water that is about 10-12 dKH and 7-9 dGH. They've been in there for a month and a half and seem healthy as can be.

As long as you acclimate them properly they should be okay. They are south american fish so the water they are naturally from is softer but if you acclimate you should be good. Having stability of water conditions is really important.

Find out where they were bred. If it was from a good breeder here in the US then you are absolutely fine.

Thank you for your replys. I will ask at my LFS where the rams came from but im thinking the LFS would have similar water to me.

It's not so much the LFS's water, but the source they were originally born and raised in. They are only in the store for a short amount of time so that is not a very good indicator of how well they will do in your water long term

I've had my bolivian in ridiculously hard water for a year and a half and he seems happy and healthy.
I can't recall what my readings were but seems like I remember it being 7-8dGH.
