Rams are beautiful fish and one of my favorites. Only thing about them, is that they can be territorial if the tank size is not big enough and not densly planted. So make sure you have a good amount of plants and hiding spaces. I have never had rainbows so can't give you much info on them but maybe someone else can.

The worst defeat in the world, is when you give up.

One function of bioload capacity is filtration: What filter(s) are you running?

Hey. In my 75 g I have 7 large Turquoise rainbows and a pair of GBRs along with 10 Harlequin Rasboras,2 corys, 2 loaches, 2 SAEs, a pleco,2 otos and snails. Its densly planted with 2 Ehiem 2217s and a AC 110 to keep the water quality high. They all get along just find and must be happy as they (rams and rainbows) breed all the time! They forced me to set up nursery tanks. Only have to make sure smaller fish get some food as rainbows are so fast. I feed smaller fish brine shrimp with long tweezers. So I say go for it!
