Preggo guppy?

I have recently noticed that one of my guppies will just float in 1 place, usually out of the way in a corner or on the bottom of the tank. Im not too good with sexing of them but I believe it is a female. It has a rather large belly. I am not familiar with the behavior when they are pregnant. I have 7 total guppy in a 15g community tank. Looking for any advice from experience.

To differentiate male and female guppies is fairly easy. The pelvic fin (back behind the belly) will drop down into a 'triangle' shape if female, or point straight towards the tail fin if male. Keep in mind females can flex this fin up and down. Females are often less colorful than males, usually being more of grayish hue in the body, but might have a colorful caudal (tail) fin.

If it is female with a fat belly and she is in with males, she is most likely pregnant. Guppies are livebearing fish that give birth to live juveniles. Most of them (if proper precautions aren't taken beforehand) will be eaten by the other fish, including the mother. Females tend to get more sluggish and look for a place to hide and give birth, so it sounds like she's gearing up for babies. What is your male to female ratio? It is usually recommended to have at least 2 to 3 females per male.

Hard to tell as I said not very good at sexing. I have 7 total and 5 of them are all yellow 2 are redish. I got them at different places so I really am not sure. I will post a pic later of them for better clarity.

I usually know that female gups are bigger than the males. My females also do the same thing that yours do.

My females do that too, it's usually when they are going to have babies soon. (1-5 days)

Both of these are female, and the larger one looks about ready to pop. Shouldn't be long now Btw...the other female is pregnant also.

Does she always hold her fins close to her body like that, is her tail fin always pinched together? How long have you had her and how long as your tank been set up?

If her fins are clamped you may have trouble coming. Do you test your water?

Nitrite and nitrate would be good in addition to ammonia. Your ammonia is at 0?
