Day 7: Today ended up being a hectic day because I was unprepared for my second pair to finally start laying eggs. Of course as always they lay on a leaf rather than my slate or my other slate or the large rocks or the clay pot or the mag float.... I have a 10 gallon dedicated to hatching eggs without the parents (least that is the plan). I debated on wither or not I should start artificially hatching this soon in my breeding experience (1 week). I decided on the why not approach (tank is set up, I have meth blue, it will remove the desired leaf, and reduce aggression in the community tank). After calling my uncle...several times...I finally cut the leaf and moved it. The pics below are of the two parents and the current set up for hatching. If you see any apparent issues such as bubbles too close or no chance with a cut leaf, please let me know and give me some advice. (Note:5 hours from move only 1 white egg)
As for the tank I have previously been talking about (laid 2/28), there is still no updates. The fry are still wigglers with the parents taking good care of them....tomorrow will tell how good the parents are.
