Question Empire Gudgeon (Hypseleotris compressa)

Wondering what suitable tank mates would be for an Empire Gudgeon? I really want to put him with Cardinal Tetras but read the gudgeon will eat smaller fish...is this true? Also, does anyone have any experience with housing one of these guys with a Betta and German Blue Ram? Any conflicts there? Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

My pair were fine until they came into breeding conditions & went on a mass-murder spree! I am currently setting up a separate tank for them.

Three aggressive species that inhabit the same area of the tank, sounds like trouble to me. What size tank? Rainbowfish are a good match.
