I posted this one Tuesday. I am currently treating a serpae tetra for parasites in a hospital tank. Not sure if it is flukes or velvet or something else. Scratching & occasional twitching were his symptoms. No fast breathing or hanging on the surface. However he stays in the back by himself only comes out to eat, sometimes. The flashlight trick at night appears to show gold looking glitter on gill plates & some on body. But it could be his natural color considering he has a tan / reddish orange color? I am not going into this any further since he is already being treated. Question is: what meds should I give with the coppersafe already being administered. I have 3 ideas: Nothing, or maracyn ( erythromycin) since it is gram positive not like nitrobacter which gram negative, or Maracyn 2 which treats gram negative? Another option could be methylene blue for fungal but not sure if or any would be ok with current med. Currently no signs of fungus . Maybe I should wait to see how the fish comes out of treatment/waterchange???? Day 6 of 10 day treatment. Any input would like some ideas. Thanks
