Help - Dead shrimp, dying dwarf gourami

Found the little guy upside down in the e. tennelus, possibly entangled, maybe not. I cleared it away and he went on his side on the bottom, still breathing. No signs of disease, except possibly tired when hanging out in a corner at the surface a couple of days back. Current can be strong when the power head is on.

Can you help?

Brought him to the surface in a net to breathe. He rested for a minute, then spazzed frenetically after release. Resting on drift wood now.

tap pH 7.8, unknown when CO2 is on.
Open top tank. Other inhabitants are fine.

Seems ok. The temp is a bit low, but not sure if its the culprit

He went up for a breath, spinning and briefly inverted, then sank back to the wood.

He's still alive but in bad shape in an inaccessible part of the tank.

I've since found a dead ghost shrimp nearby - the body was no longer clear.

And these wormlike creatures are appearing.

Do a water change. The ammonia and worms might be from overfeeding.

Agreed your ammonia needs to at 0. Do a water change. Turn off the co2 and increase aeration. Once your ammonia is back at 0 you can resume as normal

Lower your ammonia and turn off your c02 for now. Hopefully that will help
