Re: Mysterious fish fry

Thanks for asking, Binbin.

Still thinking they're P. furcatus. They do have markings down their sides, so I can't be positive. They are slow growing, so not entirely sure that the water parameters are really right for them.

I'll post new pics as soon as I can.

Thanks for waking up this thread, bud!

Pseudomugils are my favorites! They are wonderful fish, feisty and personable. My gertrudaes bred easily, but I didn't have a set up to keep the babies in. The adults would find and eat them within a couple days.

Here's a picture or two of the fish from a few minutes ago. Any ideas what they are?

The finnage certainly looks like it belongs to a rainbowfish.

The fry are still growing and coloring up.

From tonight. Any new ideas as to the species?

A photo of this mysterious fish this morning.

Rainbows of some sort. Any ideas out there?

1st off, how neat to get such an awesome surprise!!

Now that they're coloring up, I'm wanting to say Boesemani Rainbow (Melanotaenia boesemani)?
