Hey so I'm looking at my tank tonight and I notice these things on the back panel of the tank. It's not the best picture they are kinda opaque. I'd have to say they are eggs.
I doubt they will live, the tank is a community-mostly tetra tank. Black neons, diamond tetra, and bronze cory's. Can anyone tell me who probably laid these? Are they even eggs? Do they look fertilized? I've never had any eggs (that i know of) before so this is exciting.
they are eggs, if there not fertile they will turn a opaque white and should be removed, i would take them an put them into a breeder net and try an grow em, i love finding new fry/eggs it lets you know ur doing something right
man, thats awesome. you said it aquatic hypnotic, it lets me know i'm doing something right. it's like a little wet pat on the back. i kind of wish it was the diamonds, not the cory's but what ev's, i'm stoked either way.
Just a side question....what plant is that? Looks like an amazingly grown amazon sword!
It's an ozelot sword, it's a beautiful plant. The leaves range from sort of dull green to rusty brown with amazing red specs on them. It really is one of my fav's.
I could try and raise them, ive got this little hob breeder box, might be the same sort of thing. It has a little cage on the outflow, it's not a very small grid on it, so feel like the little guys might slide right through. I suppose I could fix a screen on it or w/e. What does one feed baby Cory's?
They do slip out of the slots where the water exits on my breeder box. I just cut plastic mesh grids and overlap them. Holes are small enough to keep most of the newly hatched fry from escaping.
I feed them Hikari First Bites when the egg sacks are gone. I mix some broken up pieces of regular wafers into the First Bites when they get bigger. I'm not a breeder or anything so there are probably better ways to raise them, but so far it seems to be working pretty well for me.
