zero gravity?

Has anyone ever sent their sons goldfish into orbit? What happens to fish/water in zero gravity(does it hold gasses and such still?)

This should be posted in a science forum. Are you asking about zero gravity or vacuum or zero gravity & vacuum?

If there is air like In a space station, yes, fish can live in space. They've done experiments on raising zebra fish in zero g. Nothing can live in the vacuum of space that we know of.

Correct. Even if a fish in zero gravity as long as the space it is in is pressurized then it will live.

NASA and other organizations/agencies have sent fish into space, mostly tanks on the ISS or just the space shuttle.
As long as there is light coming from one direction the fish use that direction as up, when it goes dark there is no up. Nothing else really changes.

I looked at wikipedia and it looks like it's goldfish, Mummichog, zebra danio, Oyster toadfish, swordtail fish and Japanese killifish that have been sent into space.

Please ignore any spelling/grammatical errors. I'm swedish and sometimes I'm also drunk.

Then when they are bombarded with all that cosmic radiation...

I for one, welcome our new pacu overlords.

idk exactly how the gases work up there but i know from watching several studies that most animals can stay alive but not breed in space due to just gravity, as it play a huge roll in embrio development, i cant remember if they were just severly malformed or if they didnt even come out alive been a while from when i saw it, it was with rats from what i remember. even just prolong exposure shows effects even on people when they get back, would be interesting to see what prolong exposure to us would turn us into something like wall-e the movie.

i think that in a space station/shuttle that the water would behave almost the same as on earth as its still surrounded by the same gases and that the water is still going to bind together the same, but would be nice to see if anyone really knows.

I meant in zero gravity in an inhabitable vessel. Answered my question and then some though!

I would never wish any life to be subjected to a pure vacuum... Well, maybe june bugs...

Seriously...and people are responding as if the question is actually normal.
