What type of goby?

I was at an aquarium the other day and they had some gobies in their microfish tank that I had never heard of before, and couldn't find any information on. Unfortunately I've forgotten what the store called them, but they were about the length of the scarlet badis' that were in the tank with them, sand colored, skinny and flat, and seemed to dig themselves into the sand to hide, with just their eyes out. Does anyone have any idea what they might be? Or if they're even a goby? I didn't buy one because they were 20 dollars each, and frankly my 3 gal hex is overstocked at the moment
Anyways, any ideas?

That sounds like a freshwater dwarf flounder. They do exist.

"freshwater" isn't exactly the right description. They can live in freshwater....for a period of time before they need to be let back out into salt water. Plus they are very hard to feed.

I've seen freshwater flounders though, they're roundish. This fish was skinny and long, and it had its fins in the proper places for a not-sideways fish.
