They are actually leaf litter spawners. Caves are good, but any area in the tank that has some sort of structure where the female can protect the eggs then young will work. i.e. stacked driftwood, really dense plants, etc. Without this sort of strucutre, the male will bully the female and eat the eggs. Coconut huts with moss on top work great and are attractive. Almond or hardwood leaves work well, small malaysian wood works great. etc..
