You can either rasie the temp of your tank to 84F as itch cannot survive in this kind of enviroment or get a specailist medication to remove this ...however if you tank is planted and you have other speices of fish in the tank be carefull when raising the temp if you decide to do this as some fish do not tolerate high temps ... Another way to get rid of it is to remove the neon to a quarantine tank, thus relieving the rest of the community from possible contamination. However, ichthyosporidium does have a breeding cycle, by laying eggs that go into the water medium. When the eggs hatch, the swim and infest other fish... so by quaratining early you may catch the infestation before the egg laying stage...

A white spot thats looks like a grain of salt? Or a white cotton looking spot?

55g planted tank, CO2 System, Eheim 2217 & Fluval 4 Internal filter. Just over 2 watts per gallon, 30g planted semi-aquatic Newt and Toad tank, 20g African Cichlid tank and a 2g Nano

sounds like a fungus is amongus... I doubt its ich.
definately quarantine it quickly... some spot fungi are way worst then ich if it gets a hold in tank.
Most times caused by damage to the fish... on the head I would guess he chased a piece of food into a rock or the gravel.

If ya aint got a quarantine tank then I would suggest refferring here...
