Help moving fish

I recently finished cycling my 37 gal tank, and one of my friends has decided to get rid of his 20 gal - offering me his fish! One adult upside-down catfish, a rummy nose, two rainbows and a SAE. I am going to hit home depot up and get a 5 gal bucket (or two) to get them from his place to mine, but after that I am stuck. Any suggestions on how best to get them properly acclimated and into my tank from this point? Thanks!

Drip acclimate. Dump out all but a few inches of water from the bucket, then run an airline down from your tank to the bucket. I use a cheap gang valve turned down to 2-3 drips per second. After a couple hours, you'll want most of the water the fish are in to be your tank water. At that point, scoop them out and dump them in. Don't dump the water in. Watch closely for a few days and check ammonia levels daily.
