DIY Co2 Generator D-301 or D-501

I'm doing a rescape in my 46gal and want to add the following plants
Staurogyne repens
Blyxa japonica
Red Cabomba
Ludwigia glandulosa/peruensis
and/or
Ludwigia repens
and/or
Ludwigia palustris
(I haven't decided)
I don't think these plants NEED Co2, but I know it would help them. (esp the Ludwigia in turning red) So, has any one ever used the DIY Co2 Generator D-301 or D-501? What's your recipe, what size tank, how long does it last? If I can use one of these, I would rather do that then spend the money on presurized co2.

Search through the DIY section here (moved your thread to the right area). You'll find countless members using DIY co2.

That said, DIY co2 can get expensive and messy pretty quickly. Particularly when pressurized setups can be had for $100 or less. Not fancy two-stage regulators, no, but there are setups that can definitely be had.

Ok, thx. Where can I buy a setup for under 100$? The LFS in my area are 200$ and up, so can you recommend a good website.
(sorry for putting this in the wrong category)
