where to get sponge filter sponges for diy sponge filters

where can i find these sponges people make sponge filters out of?
im looking for the bigger ones like 4"x4" squares i see people make and sell on aqubid and other sites. i have gone to most stores here and no sponges around. where can i get these from? im not looking to make and sell just want to make some for myself and friend.thanks

I have found some nice ones at the dollar store

  • 20g planted
  • 20g & 29g fw fish only
  • 10g Hex planted
  • 55g planted
  • 65g SW Macroalgae & Fish
  • 175g FW

Here is a great place for bulk purchases.

I made my own sponge filters for a while and found the cost of the proper foam higher than the cost of purchasing off the shelf filters in bulk.
