Hello all I was wondering how I could build a CRUDE sturdy cinder block stand for a 20g long? I also was wondering if I could let a glass tank sit 1" over on both sides? Will it break? Well any DIY CHEAP VERY CHEAP stands welcome to suggestion!

Keep glass tanks supported all the way around the outside edge.

I've seen photos of 120 gallon tanks supported on cinderblock/ wood board stands, so it shouldn't be a problem. Your tank is only 30", that tank was 5'.

Cinderblock stands are really handy.. cheap too... I'm actually going to have to build one as an interim setup for my breeding project...

COOL! I was just so paranoid about the blocks breaking!! Well thanks GDominy about the edge! I was about to put it on my old "stand" and hope it wouldnt BUST! So should I put cinder blocks then Wood? Or would cinderblocks by themself be sufficiant?

NO, it won't break... just make sure to make it absolutely LEVEL.. use a board on the top and then, under that board, put a sheet of styrofoam... or something similar(thin pry best) to "fill in the void areas that are not as level..

Help control the pet population...spay or neuter people won't spay or neuter their dogs or cats!

Use some 1/2" plywood like mentioned above. Cut it to size so it supports all edges of the tank.

I've used this type of stand in the past. It may be obvious, but you should also orient the holes in the cinder blocks upward for best strength.
