Question Iron Sticks with Red Clay

Hello, does anyone make their own iron sticks from clay? If so, how do you make yours?
I purchased a 5lb. block of Amaco Mexican Pottery Red Clay and would like to know if it is safe and how do I make it?
I am new to buying clay so I do not understand if it is fired/unfired/if it has polymer/etc...here is the link to what I have...any help would be appreciated http://www.dickblick.com/products/am...-pottery-clay/

That stuff is just fine and I'm pretty sure that's the same brand I used. Here is a good thread on how to do it.
