Farming spirulina algae or blue green algae?

has anyone farmed spirulina algae to make food for fry or shrimp ..?

would love to try it, but start up costs are high. I will eventually buy a starter culture and get it going. Originally wanted it to feed daphnia so I could feed the daphnia to the fish.

I keep daphnia in with leaf litter and they thrive without greed water

Good chance it's already in your tank. If you have a $25 optical microscope, tweeze some green stuff or siphon substrate surface, if you see spiral algea..jackpot. Also depends on what fish you keep. My guppies munch on algae more so than the otos
