De-rimming a 5 gallon

Ok so Ive done some searches on this forum and google. Not getting many results.
Can anybody tell me how to go about de-rimming my 5 gallon tank? And if you could be so kind as to provide a step-by-step type tutorial I would be forever grateful! Im terrified Im going to end up breaking the tank. EEEKKK!

Thanks!

ETA::: Tried switching up how I was wording my searches, found several threads now. Nevermind. LOL

be careful, use your hands untill all the plastic is off. go slow. go slow. go slow. once the rim is off get a PACK of razor blades and scrape the excess silicone off, swapping blades regularly.
