just t5 for lighting?

almost done with my canopy..
its 4ft long..

and i was not able to find any T5HO in the hardwares..

so i just went for the ordinary T5 fixtures..
6500k daylight

i will have two 8 watts of those and one blue 8 watt T5 ..

do you think it would be enough?..

and i also have one concern..

my canopy is really an enclosed space.
so i was worrying if the evaporation / moist would short circuit the lights above.. it's just probably 8 inches above the water..

the T5 doesnt have any enclosure btw.. just the fixture and the flourescent tube..

next... i was planning to put a hole on the other end of the canopy for a DC 12v fan.. would that minimize the moisture inside?..

for short circuiting it no... i have 2 T5HO fixtures over my 120G and the bulbs are 6 inches off the water and no problems and with my 150G

and for enough lighting how many gallons is it? like my 120G is 4 ft as well
and did you try your local homedepot for T5HO? thats where i got mine at

I doubt if Home Depot is in the Philippines. If you can make some simple reflectors from thin aluminum sheets, shaped like \_/, with the bulb in the middle, with the sides bent so you can see a good image of each bulb on either side of it, you can get about twice as much light from each bulb.

i kinda went to 3 of the largest DIY hardware stores in my place..
ace hardware, handyman, citi hardware..

they didn't have T5 high ouuput, they only had the common T5s and T8 flourescent tubes..

@Hopyy ; currently at my place, i have a few T5 fixture with a diffuser cover attached to the fixture, should i use it or remove it ?.. ( its a 1 or 2 mm thick translucent plastic with ribbed lines to spread the light..)

@wsharp ; its 100 gal, 4ft length, 2 ft width, 21inch depth..
