eBay thermal adhesive

Has anyone used the $1 thermal adhesive found on eBay? Is it just thermal compound or does it harden?

I know that the Arctic Alumina would be the best choice but if the cheapo works then why not.

im assuming you are using it for your computer? if so ,, i found it best to spend a little extra and buy the good thermal adhesive.. you dont want to burn out a brand new chip b/c you used crappy paste.

I will be using it to glue LEDs to a heatsink. I've always used high quality thermal compound with my computer.

I'm wondering if this stuff actually dries and hardens.

I wouldn't use regular thermal paste. Go to rapidled or aquastyle online and buy the special thermal glue they sell. You get what you pay for.

The one on AquaStyle is the same stuff. I've just read on DX forum that this stuff dies dry.

That's unfortunate. Looks like they're trying to cut costs. Check out rapidled.

I've also seen a YouTube video of assembling a kit from aquastyle and the adhesive is also the same.

I will try this one out. It's only a dollar anyway.

I'd still stick w/ the 2 part epoxy IF you want a permanent bond.

"heatsink plaster"..

Arctic alumina adhesive..

I used exactly the same thing on my led's. As my opinion, works well. Dry quickly (in few minutes. Not 12 hours...)

Chinese stuff can be cheap and good as well

Turkish boy from Hong Kong...
