glass diffuser problem

Got a small glass diffuser to try out for fun. Hooked it up to my DIY CO2 and couldn't get it to do anything so figured it was a pressure issue. Tried connecting it into an air pump thinking that would be sufficient but still no dice. I have seen people use glass diffusers with DIY CO2 before so the fact that I can't even get this thing to generate any bubbles even with an air pump seems odd. Any ideas?

If it's a plain glass diffuser, then it should be putting out bubbles from at least an air pump. Try pouring a little bleach on the ceramic disc and wait about 10 minutes then rinse it under the tap until the bleach smell is gone. Could you perhaps find a picture online of the type of diffuser it is?

It's a UP AQUA glass diffuser D-521 model. I'll try the bleach idea. Thanks.

No need to. There needs to be at least 3-4psi to get those things to work. No way will DIY psi get high enough.

Are you speaking specific to this model or all? Seen a bunch of people claim on forums they use glass diffusers with their diy as well as YouTube videos though I'm not referring specifically to this one when I say that. How many PSIs does an air pump generate?

I have mini glass diffusers for my Ebi and can't get it to work with a tetra 60 air pump. The only time I can get it to work is hooked up to my paintball CO2 tank running 2-3 psi
