Question What should I do? DIY question

Hello!

I've been interested in setting up a tiny aquarium that's been lying around in my storage room for a few years.. However, from the silicone's old age and from being tossed around the glass is broken and cracked on both larger sides (it's not even worth fixing because the cracks are pretty significant)

I have a lid which fits perfectly for it too..and considering the tank's small size it's not very easy to find a similar one to replace it with.

I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to buy some glass and make a new tank myself? Or would I save more money by buying a new one? (if I can find one)

What would be the cheapest and smartest solution?

Thanks!

I'd say maybe 4-5 gallons or so. It sucks because I wanted to set up a little side project and not have to spend money on it (using some stuff I already have)

Cheapest solution, a new 10g tank can usually be found for $10-15.

You'll spend much, much more money on setting up the tank with filters, gravel, lights, etc... than on the tank itself.

A DIY tank is rarely cheaper than buying a pre-fab tank unless you have a very good source for glass, or unless you simply have to have something with odd dimensions that have to be custom built.
