I think chances are your co2 will not collapse inwards.

Edit: What the heck, I have never seen a co2 bottle do that...

I think removing the stocking fixed it, I guess the stocking got clogged where the slits are making it hard to suck stuff up.

good thing you fixed it when you did a bit longer and it would be sucking in that nasty yeast mixture into your tank

How old is the mix in the bottle? Maybe the yeast beasts are not producing as fast as they once were. Standard mix, jelly mix?
I thought it was the universe collapsing back in on itself. I believe in the ever expanding cool death.

thank you! There's a theory that the universe is getting colder and contracting till it will eventually become back to the singularity moment. The ultimate implosion and then it will expand again like the big bang.

Anyway yeah, release the pressure on the co2 bottle.

Maybe try a firmer plastic bottle, instead of using a flimsy 2 liter soda bottle try a thicker apple juice or gatorade bottle.

Great joke, but the universe isn't contracting.

Lol its the old theory. And as of right now the universe is not cooling down. However, it has been implicated in string theory that what I had said may be true. But the joke wasn't about validaty but refernce to the old theory. Anyway now that I explained the joke its no longer funny. Some say it was never funny. But I digress. Back to the co2 problem

So you're saying the universe is slowly filling with CO2?........

Ha... I joke, I joke... I'm not stupid.. I know the universe is just 4 giant elephants on an even bigger turtle...

But seriously... I was wondering (don't mean to highjack the thread....too late?), how long will that DIY mixture last? What is the indication that it needs to be replaced? Will there physical signs on the bottle?

How long it lasts depends on the yeast to sugar ratio, type of yeast, buffer in the mix, temperature, etc. So, it depends on how you mix it, but mix it again the same way and it will be similar.

You need to replace it when the bubbles stop coming, you can't really tell from the bottle. This is where a gas separator/bubble counter comes in handy.
