New 20 Gallon for Fire Belly Newts

Hello all ! I am new to the forum and new to planted tanks. I currently have a 20 gallon tank. It houses 2 firebellied newts and a nerite snail. I have lots of live plants and an looking to get them thriving ! I will update some more of the plant names when i find them out. I do have some Java Moss and a Marimo moss ball in the tank as well , some water wysteria i belive and a few others. I want to carpet my sand substrate and am looking for the best low light , low maintenance plant to use as a carpet. The temps range from 68 to 74 degrees. Here is the tank below. Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Dwarf sag. Try to keep the temps below 70. Even below 68. Cooler temps the better for amphibians like this. I keep mine around 64 year round. More plants the better. I prefer the wild jungle look myself. I think the newts do too. I have two 20s, one with two adult breeding Japanese newts and the other with one juvie gold dust newt. Pics below.
