When we where home, ours was out of her cage in her ficus tree. We had a heat lamp not to far away so that she could stay warm still, but the plant wouldn't catch on fire.
When we went to bed, or had to go out, she went back into her cage for safety reasons.
"And 5, very important 5... Don't let me eat pears.. I HATE PEARS."
They seem like a good idea, but there are some down sides:
1. They dont like to be handled. So going from cage to free roaming is probably pretty stressful for all but the most tame.
2. Their poo doesn't stink but it looks kind of like the dry portion of bird poop and can be clingy
3. They eat crickets. Ive found that any pet that eats pest insects means you will have pest insects in your house.
4. They can drown easily so if you do free roam, keep the tank well out of reach.
