I think it looks fantastic! The dwarf hair grass has a really awesome green, especially in contrast to the dark substrate. How is the flow with 2 power heads and the canister? Also, I think you should add a school of corys for the bottom. I think they are great fish and some sterbai or julii corys would look great with the dark substrate.
Thank you!! The flow is alright. I think some of my fish like playing in the current the powerheads create. I would add some corys but I don't think they would have any room to swim. Maybe I should have gotten Eleocharis Belem which grows shorter than the dhg I have now. I'll definitely look into though.
Do your Long-fin serpae school together much? I've got some in a 10G, obviously smaller, but they really are never together. Unless I'm mistaken and they aren't a schooling tetra.
None of my schooling fish really school. They all just hang put in individual groups Of two or three and occasionally join up. The only time they school is when i put my hand in the tank and when it's feeding time.
Well I ordered the green fertilizer package from GLA today and bought a digital scale so by the end of this week I'll be doing via the PPS Pro method. My CO2 project will also be complete so looks like my tank should be completely set by this weekend.
In other news my R. Rotundifolia, some of the older DHG I had, and my java moss keep getting brown algae. I haven't added anything new except more plants. I did increase dosing but I don't think that would cause brown algae to grow. I have heard that old bulbs will do that when they need replacing so i might have to replace my bulbs now? Anyone know if thats true? Here is some pictures.
Well i did a 70% water change, rescaped, and removed my moss wall because it just started to become a bba magnet. I also took out one of the pieces of driftwood and i think it looks good. here is what it looks like now. i also lost one of my serpae tetras to some kind of (fish) skin disease :icon_cry:
Are you planning on adding anything that'll add some height (like a driftwood)? Right now you have everything low to the substrate and no vertical interest.
Well I joined the dirty tankers today! I bought some Miracle Grow Organic Choice Potting Mix. I did about 1-1.5" and capped it with 1/2" of Eco Complete. I replanted my staurogyne repens and in the process of replanting my glosso and dhg. Since blyxa can't be grown emersed I put it in this for the time being
Is there a list of all the rotala species somewhere? When I grew r. Rotundifolia I loved it and always wanted to collect all the rotala species and start a collectors tank. I'm not sure I know what r. Sunset looks like but I'll definitely look it up. Thanks Storm!
Hey, seeing as we're both in the same town Do you still have any c.willisii? I have a small amount of rotala colorata and some other stems I would be willing to trade.
