I am from Slemp. Which is SouthEast KY. Closest fish stores I have a re 30 miles away. Not a big selection either. I really want some nice shrimp, but the best I can get around here are Ghost Shrimp.
Anyone here tried wild harvest? I am going out this weekend to get some stock and it is a maiden voyage... looking for some pointers! I spotted some really cool moss and liverwort at big rock last weekend so I am going to get some for myself
i didn't know feeders was a pet store, thanks for you tip. i've seen it before but being new to kentucky, i thought it was a horse feed store or something like that. i've only seen the sign from a distance. a 30 minute drive is way better than a 50 minute to petsmart. they had a few plants but the selection was very very small.
If you're near downtown, the Feeders on Baxter Avenue will often have a better plant selection. Your best bet (it will be cheaper - including shipping) is to buy from other members here on the forum.
Is there a certain time when they get them? I was there on Saturday and all I saw were 4 sad plants in a tank, nothing else? And they sell algae eating shrimps, which are the amanos, or? They were no ghost shrimp for sure
Ok, then I know where to find them. Do you know if they get along with the ghosts? Would Luke to put them in my 55. And they were 2 bucks a piece, which is a good price I think? And sorry for off topic
"Ghost Shrimp" is sort of a collective way to refer to several different kinds of shrimp. Some can complete the reproduction cycle in freshwater, some can't. Some will attack and eat other shrimp, some won't.
The only way to know is to try, honestly.
