Yunnanilus cruciatus

You've never really talked much about these, other than to say you like them lots. I've combed the archives for threads, and there is limited info over there.

I'm going through stocking ideas for a 12 long I am setting up at the moment, and I'm looking for maximum "doing stuff" in the fish I choose for it. -- specifically inquisitiveness and social interactions.

Can you talk a little bit about their behavior? I know sids are very clown-loach like in their social interactions. Sadly, sids are too big for this tank. Do the cruciatus do similar stuff?

So I am debating between yunnanilus cruciatus and one of the native darter species at the moment.

How many would you recommend at max for a 12 long? Relatively heavily planted, and over filtered fwiw.

Sorry to bug you, and thanks!
