Almost vomited making my first batch of soilent green. X(

What kind of food would you recommend for the corydoras (pygmaeus/habrosus)? Mostly protein or mostly vegetable matter, or 50/50?

Something more rich in protein; either the community or the shrimp souffle. The community is largely krill based while the shrimp souffle is mollusk and krill. I prefer the shrimp diet, but either should be good.

Just got the community plus and soilent green. After reading through this thread, I think I'm going to (eventually) make me a dozen little shallow 2" feeding plates with rough surfaces, mix up a batch, pour it in and freeze them. Sometimes being a potter isn't so bad. HA!

And Rachel, the otos you sent- I have never seen such sassy, fat little guys! LOVE them!

I am glad he made some aquatic animal foods. I LOVE his Gecko foods. Just don't look at the Geckos he has for sale. The prices will scare you away. lol

Not sure what I want to order. Probably start with the Shrimp Souffle.

I just ordered a stack of "brown sugar discs" that I plan on using for my soilent green. I think they will be perfect!

They're little 2ish inch terra cotta discs that you're supposed to soak and put in brown sugar to keep it moist. I think it'll be a great off label use
I'll keep you posted though!

They'll work perfectly.

I've been using them for almost two weeks now. :P

HIGHLY recommend them.

Anybody had any luck getting Boraras brigittae to eat Community?

I've been introducing it to Chilis in a dozen different tanks over the past couple weeks and am having mixed results. Every other species goes to town on the stuff, though.

Have no doubt that they will eventually "get" it but it's taking some time.
