If you know anything about Techno, you'll know Armin Van Buuren and Tiesto. Youtube search them.

ddtran,
That's one of the classics man. I love that song as well. The thing with electronic music is that so many dj's remix the hell out of the best songs. There are so many versions to chose from.

Tiesto is more trance dj isn't he?

And I'm not big fan of his. I like Green velvet, dj Dan, dj Sneak, duft punk, my hubby is very good too. I got so many dj that I like :)
Jeckyl and hyde are not that bad ether.

Okay, I hate telling other people what to like, but two very quick things:

1. This is not techno. If at all, we would refer to this as trance.

2. This song is...well I'm not into trance, but it kinda sounds like the stuff from the late 90s that gave mainstream "techno" its bad plastic music reputation.

The best stuff doesn't always have videos on Youtube, but here are some examples of good quality techno djs:

This is techno:

Sven Vaeth (Germany) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgdM8af2Dhc

Richie Hawtin (UK/Canada/Germany) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0DaqKQiE7s&feature=related

DJ Rush (USA) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXDwfuZuS4k

Needless to say it doesn't work on a CD Player in the kitchen or on the radio. Techno needs to be embedded in a multi-hour set. Not to say that there are no individual pieces (obviously, a set is many pieces merged into one long harmonic track), but few people would call them songs.

Trance is a little more accessible (presumably because there is a melody and you can wave glow sticks ;), and its artists receive more attention from the mainstream. Here are some pieces that I like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5LW07FTJbI Sports fans may know know this one. ;) Munich producer/dj Zombie Nation with his club anthem "Kernkraft 400." Very awesome. The guy also produces under the name John Starlight. Check him out - good stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXBCspBsqsk Azzido da Bass "Dooms night." Timo Maas remix. Anything from Timo Maas is highly recommendable.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlLWFa1b1Bc For the "Trainspotting" fans. ;) Underworld with "Born slippy."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLrDW64DnIM Delirium with "Silence" (Airscape remix)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pn73q9l3ILw Mauro Picotto "Komodo." Gets interesting at 0:38. You will like this. And millions of people taking ecstasy will agree. ;)

Btw, if you really like that diddle-di-diddle-di stuff from your video, you may want to check out DJ Tiesto and Mauro Picotto. Not my taste, but solid quality trance.

Nice tracks you posted :D I used to be a big fan of Timo Maas and Zombie Nation actually got some tracks of them on vinyl left from way back when, and I got that delirium remix too. I like plaing around with turn tables sometimes :

To me, Techno is dance music(or whatever) with no singing or anything like that in it. Trance has the dance music with singing in it. I don't I might be wrong.

You are aware that pretty much every major American Detroit/minimal artist has at least one label in Berlin or London? ;)

It's true that Detroit is where it all started - but for decades, the United States electronic dance scene has been insignificant compared to Europe (...Australia, Israel, Southeast Asia...).
